ABOUT ME
Myfanwy Morgan is 27 years old, they were raised in Thurso, Caithness, born and currently based in Inverness. They are a queer, non-binary artist that focuses on work highlighting and creating discussions for important topics, ranging from gender identity and sexual identity advocacy, anti-white supremacy activism to chronic illness, mental health and disability awareness. Essentially, if it doesn't feel fair, they will already have at least half a song written about it.
They have a HNC in Acting and Performance from Inverness College and a HND in Acting and Performance from Performing Arts Studio Scotland. They started to study a BA in Acting for Stage and Screen at Queen Margarets/ Edinburgh Napier University, but their at the time undiagnosed Borderline Personality Disorder had other ideas, and what started as a deferral lead to them becoming a bonafede dropout.
They continued to be as creative as they could (while reaching out for the professional help they needed) and did some distanced travelling for different projects. They were finding a new normalcy when in May 2019 they were diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy (heart failure) after being a few hours from the unknowing void...Yikes.
But they couldn't let anything get in the way of being creative. So, when they didn't have cardiac rehabilitation sessions and the world wasn't in the grasp of a deadly pandemic, they took part in various projects, including becoming a trainee for RESURGENCE a creative enquiry by Scottish Youth Theatre. This was their first taste of producing, investing in the creation of a podcast!
This spurred them on to take online classes and learn more about audio production. They hope to be able to use their little DIY studio (their wardrobe) to record, mix and master a project in the future!
